Bear River

In 1996 EDM designed, arranged for approval permits, and installed the first municipal solar aquatics sewage treatment system in North America in the tiny village of Bear River, Nova Scotia.

The system not only worked flawlessly, it won one Canadian and three international design awards, and even became a successful tourism amenity on the community's waterfront park.

After five years in operation, the maintenance contract of the facility was taken over by engineers working for the village and it stopped operation as a Solar Aquatics facility.
