![]() Community DesignEDM’s design process begins at the consultation with a client and includes all of the stakeholders needed for client and regulatory approvals. Initial concepts are drawn and discussed and go through increasing detail based on stakeholders’ feedback. EDM integrates landscape design with engineering, science, and real estate economics for better design and cost savings to our clients. Landscape features may be designed for multiple uses. Example: a reflecting pond may also be a stormwater collector and wildlife habitat. It may lower construction costs by reducing pipe needs. Design often includes subcontractors for engineering, planning, scientific and economic consulting in the same process. By blending the input of various disciplines upfront EDM offers designs that are based on experience, expertise and attention to detail that can move quickly to implementation. The Village of Chester In 1996 EDM provided the Village of Chester Tourism and Development Association with a Village Improvement Plan, a map of improvement projects the village could pursue as funds became available. With many of those projects completed EDM recently completed a second plan that has been ratified by the association and work has begun on its implementation.
