![]() PlanningEDM is established in a strong land ethic. Different land supports different types and levels of development and the land itself influences project requirements. EDM assumes its clients want something special - fresh options that exploit the potential of their land. EDM involves its entire team, and contractors as necessary, in assessing the options and potential for a piece of land. Staff understands the process, people, agencies and approvals necessary to change land use. They meet with stakeholders and interested parties to “Charette” or generate and discuss alternatives that give them ownership of the process and its results. EDM understands that “win win” solutions lead to a plan that has full political and public support and effective implementation. Big Cove Aboriginal Community EDM prepared a community plan and servicing strategy for expansion of the Big Cove Aboriginal Community within the 5,200 acre Big Cove Reserve near Richibucto, New Brunswick. EDM used a sophisticated GIS (Geographic Information System) assessment suitability analysis of the land’s capability to support conflicting needs of future development, environmental health, and the Band’s cultural and spiritual requirements.
