Models

EDM has developed several models using GIS for the assembly and presentation of data to assess alternative locations. Scores are assigned to individual criteria being considered in a data layer. Layers are then combined as appropriate for a model. The resulting overlays provide an objective and repeatable assessment of the landscape.

Put simply:

Layer 1 + Layer 2 + Layer 3 + Layer 4 + Layer 5 = Model Result.

Layers of input information are modelled or ranked to produce a map showing the most suitable or important locations in relation to the attribute being considered. The process allows analysis of a variety of potential land uses, from commercial development to residential development to preservation in a natural state.
